The basics
Three common types of coverage
There’s no one right answer. What fits depends on your age, health, budget, and who you want to protect.
Term life
Coverage for a set number of years, like 10, 20, or 30. If you pass away during the term, your beneficiaries receive the death benefit.
Often used to cover the years when people depend on your income most, like while kids are at home or a loan is being paid off.
Whole life / Final expense
Permanent coverage designed to last your whole life as long as premiums are paid. Some policies build cash value over time.
Final expense is a smaller whole life policy meant to help family with funeral costs and other end-of-life bills.
Mortgage protection
Life insurance set up around your mortgage, so your family has money to help keep up with the home if you pass away.
Some policies also include options for serious illness or disability. Features vary by policy.
On a call, we look at what’s available for your age and state and compare options side by side. Coverage, eligibility, and cost depend on the policy and your health history.
